Organization Chart
The Airports System is operated as a single system by the Department of Transportation. The organization of the Airports System is shown on the left.
AIRPORT DISTRICTS
Your Airport District Manager (ADM) is based on your geographical region. The State of Hawaii is divided into four (4) airport districts (as shown below). The ADM’s role is to oversee the operations and maintenance of all airports within their assigned district.
Regarding TIPs, the ADM’s role is to provide oversight and authorization and ensure that all proposed projects align with airport policies, safety standards, and operational requirements. The ADM holds initial design concept meetings, reviews and approves TIPs, issues relevant permits, and gives the final green light for construction to begin.
Who’s Involved?
Three major airport sections are involved in the TIP process (alongside the ADM). Each section is responsible for a specific aspect of a TIP — review, comment, and approve TIP submissions via the M. 1-5 documents. Below is a list of TIP reviewers that Tenants would require a final approval from:
- AIR-PM (Property Management):
- Lease verification
- Insurance requirement (M. 1-3)
- AIR-L (Operations Branch):
- ADA Compliance
- Safety plan (AIR-LF)
- AIR-E (Engineering Branch):
- AIR-EE (Environmental)
- AIR-EP (Planning)
- AIR-ED (Design)
- AIR-EG (Drafting)
- AIR-EM (Maintenance)
- AIR-EC (Construction)
- AIR-OM (Oahu Maintenance Branch)
